Or, the Rune Master becomes a hero, and the Troll Slayer the impressive.
Troll Slayer as the "Impressive" unit makes the most sense, as he could then be tuned to take on various monsters (which is what Troll Slayers do, after all) - game rules and fluff working together rather than against each other, yes thank you!

I got some ideas for the Greenskins, who fit well as a duo with Dwarves :

Leader : Orc Boss
Hero1 : Big'Uns (damage dealer)
Hero2 : Goblin Shaman (magic and goblin special abilities)
Hero3 : Black Orc (armour bonuses, and morale)
Impressive : Troll (with regeneration)
Henchmen : Orc Boy
Henchmen : Goblin Warrior (shooters and harrassers)

All Greenskins, except the Black Orc are subject to Animosity.
Animosity : On the beginning of each greenkin turn, any unit not engaged in close combat must do a Morale test (based on the Morale value, like routing test) If failed, the Unit becomes stupid for the turn.

Another DLC could introduce 2 new antagonist factions : Beastmen and Kislevites.
It would be the occasion to create some new maps, like the dark forests around Mordheim.

BEASTMEN

Leader : Beastman Chieftain
Hero 1 : Bestigor (damage dealer)
Hero 2 : Ungor Hunter (shortbow and scouting)
Hero 3 : Beastman Shaman (chaos magic)
Impressive : Minotaur, or Centigor
Henchman : Gor (heavy close combat)
Henchman : Ungor (light close combat)

Beastmen Heroes have access to mutations. Beastmen are fast and close combat specialists.

KISLEVITES

Leader : Druzhina Captain
Hero 1 : Esaul (scout, shooter, versatile warrior)
Hero 2 : Bear Tamer (Guidance, close combat specialist)
Hero 3 : Ice Sorcerer (magic)
Impressive : War Bear (stupidity)
Henchman : Cossacks (bonus against chaotic, no-powder ranged weapons and close combat)
Henchman : Streltsi (halberd and powder weapons, to-hit bonus with handguns if halberd is used as secondary weapon)

Kislevites are easy to do (like Witch Hunters) and add some new gameplay and roleplay opportunities.

No not really, they're simply "Slayers".

They can be "anything" Slayers as far as their backstory goes, but within Mordheim, they're most likely to meet Ogres (whether Ratty or otherwise) and Chaos Spawn, neither of which seem to warrant a specific title in the "hierarchy" of Slayers. "Sister Slayer" really does not ring well, either.

Actually the difference between troll, giant, dragon or daemon slayers isn't just a matter of style.
It is the rank of the Slayer. In the beginning of their career, Slayers must slay Trolls, when they killed enough Trolls, they have to kill Giants, then Dragons, then Daemons...

Basic : Troll Slayer
Champion : Giant Slayer
Hero : Dragon Slayer
Lord : Daemon Slayer

So In Mordheim COTD, if the slayer is a standard hero, he will be a basic Troll Slayer, if he counts as an impressive, then he must be a Giant Slayer.

I disagree, those are just the WFB ranks. The Slayer Cult is not nearly as regimented and regulated as that (I'm talking about background fluff, not rules here). A Slayer is a Giant Slayer when he has slain a Giant, not after killing some arbitrary number of Trolls. In any case, "Impressive" is not a rank recognized anywhere except in this Mordheim adaptation - it's not "Imressive == Big Guy" after all.

Anyway, we're getting a bit off topic here, so we'll probably just have to agree to disagree - which is fine. Besides, Troll Slayers, Giant Slayers or Demonslayers - Mordheim will claim them all!

"big guy" isn't a requirement either. Impressive refers more to ability not size.

The interesting thing with the configuration of A vampire Newborn as a ultimate hero (and alternate leader) is that you can hire several Newborn Vampire, and make a pure Vampire warband :

Leader : Vampire Newborn Born Leader
Hero : Vampire Newborn
Hero : Vampire Newborn
Impressive : Vampire Dark Lord
Henchmen : Ghouls
^^
Really breaks too far from the TT.

My favorite warbands in the TT game were Kislev and Carnival. But seeing as they're gearing up for an announcement and Halloween is around the corner, I'm guessing Undead is next.
