Player's Wishlist

Postby Relic » 22 December 2015, 01:36

There is a thread in steam for a Player's Wish List, but none here in the official forum. So for people like me that does not ever post in steam, I figured I would start one here.

Random missions for longevity of the game. Or better yet, Random campaigns. Preferable start after the campaign is over, so we can keep playing the same war band.

Example:

Your warband has been approached by so and so, seeking escort, if you accept they are willing to pay you something if you can get him to somewhere. Then determine number of maps to complete, say 1 to 3, then determine type of deployment...etc, if you accept yes you do not get to choose the map, you would have to follow the random mini mission(s). Would also be nice if this would be an alternative method to raising ranks with factions.

Little missions like this would be a great addition and then being tied to reputation as an additional way to progress on these massively long slogs would make sense and be great too.
Good wishlist item.

For me, I'd love to see more warbands. But that's obvious...

I'd love to see, in an expansion...

-Another map set to add to merchant and noble quarters.

-More NPCs, including weaker and potentially more numerous ones like mutated giant rats, bats, spiders whatever, or ghouls, dregs, hounds or more daemons like nurglings, flesh hounds. Weaker NPCs would be good for low level bands to encounter and would offer the option of being numerous or even reinforcing as well which would interesting variations.

-Additional secondary objective types. Find a specific piece of loot on the map maybe? Or maybe a king of the hill style thing with appropriate fluff, or have points on the map that you need to interract with like the fountains and statues you find in the stories? Plenty of options even just using the existing mechanics from the campaign missions.

I'd love to see, in comparitively high priced DLC (to ensure the development is profitable and keep development alive)...

-Dramatis personae style hired swords sold individually and enabled to appear occasionally in the hired sword rotation (with maybe a guaranteed level 0 so people don't feel like they're getting nothing) for the appropriate warband.
Developing, say, a pit fighter hero (one model) and selling it for $6 is something I'd be totally supportive of.

-Cosmetic upgrade packs for warbands. More beard, helmet, armour, belt etc varieties. Again, has to be a comparitively light workload and I'll happily pay whatever it costs for extra frills and to help support profits and longevity for this great game.

The similar thread on steam unfortunately digressed into an airing of grievances about what people already wanted in game rather than what they would like to see in the future. My main wish is for more multiplayer options other than 1v1, especially a co-op mode. Rather than ranting about what I didn't get, I would rather focus on what i would like to see implemented. Also I would gladly pay for this in an expansion rather than demanding it be added to the game i already bought. I saw so many rants on the steam thread of this nature. I knew what I was buying and I am very satisfied with the product. I also saw some complaints about "stupid ai". I really don't know what people expect. If it was any smarter it would try to take over the world.
The mechanics are rock-solid and the level design is amazing as well. The team has done such a good job with the story-line missions that I expect they can crank out great expansions in the future, so I am not really worried about future content. They are clearly capable of making more warbands and missions, I would like to see more multiplayer modes so that the game has a wider appeal and sales increase. This would provide the funding and incentive for additional content.

@Kamandi

Sorry but the AI in this game is fairly shockingly bad.

To be fair it has to be or you wouldn't be able to get a warband to level 10 with the injury system.

But when you see the enemy impressive sending all game making love to a wall.... well clearly there is something that needs fixing there.

There are many other major bugs which should have been fixed before release, such as the inability to disengage, snipers blocking climb points to make them immune to melee, friendly units blocking climb points e.t.c. as well as quite a few major balance issues that all need fixing so some of what is been said is justified (if somewhat exaggerated in many cases).

It could be fun to switch things up and have some kill the vip, escort and king of hill type objectives added into the game. Team multiplayer and co-op. More warbands + Alternate warbands (same race different factions).

Alternate faction warbands would be another cool option that might be a little less work with the shared assets.
Middenheimers, Marienburgers, Averlanders etc.
Clan Pestilens, Skryre etc.
Khorne, Tzeentch, Slaanesh cultists (not Nurgle, 'cause Carnival).

More mission types - stuff that was in the original game like Occupy (like King of the Hill, gain victory by controlling specific buildings) and Hidden Treasure (one search point has a cool treasure that you need to return to your board edge, or cart in the game's case).

Some of the multiplayer scenarios could be adapted, like the one where you have to rescue and escort the Merchant's son (npc) or the one with a monster's lair in the middle of the battlefield and if you can slay the creature you can fight over the treasure it was guarding.

I would like to see Dwarf warband :D

And seriously more Multiplayer matches. I think that system of searching the match should be implemented. Something like in Dota 2 or Company of heroes 2. You just click "search the game" and system will match you up with other people who want play. If im trying to find multiplayer game the lobby is always empty.
