Show your Warband!

Postby Velgarn » 24 August 2014, 11:09

Well, since we are probably all fan of the game, i bet most of you have one or more Mordheim warbands that you used to play with friends.
So, why don't show them? I think it will be nice to see how everyone likes to set, modify and color his own warband, and maybe sharing one or more stories of you best, worst of funny moments during the game.

I will start myself with some old photos i made 2 years ago. Unfortunatly the quality is very low, since i used my phone

Not all of the models are 100% colored in the photo (and not all are GW miniatures)

Ps: the Wolf is a very old miniature, from 1st or 2nd edition of WHFB, if i remember right

Very nice, i wasn't aware of this TT setting so i missed it completely. Played a little bit of warhammer FB TT but it felt a bit too costly and very cumbersome to bring an entire army to play with someone. Wish i had known about this, feels too late to start now with the offical support gone.

I suppose i could buy some seperate units and form a warband from that and hunt down rulebooks somehow. Sorry if this is kinda off topic

Velgarn, what rules did you use for your giant? :)

Jonkenden, Mordheim Rulebooks should be free thanks to GW policy on specialist games.

I did not have a good camera back in the day, neither with film or digital... so I ended up scanning in my warband some 10 or so years ago.

They do not look... that great... partly because even though I am somewhat skilled with painting etc, and drawing and painting has always been a hobby of mine... but for some reason painting models bored me to no end (especially if I had a lot of them that needed painting). So I hastily threw these together to get it done in a "good enough" manner... plus I did manage to get in a fair bit of gaming with them (befor me and my friends finally had drifted apart), and since I never used any protective spray or anything on them either they got a bit wear and tear to them.

If I am not mistaken the model that the Witch Hunter box said was the Leader (the Witch Hunter Captain) is the guy with the head in his hand and his sword on his shoulder... but I always felt like the top right guy seemed much more like a leader then him, so that is the guy who became my leader... hence most of his stuff being goldplated. The upper left guy I think was a Middenheim model or something, that I included as the 3rd Witch Hunter hero (or which ever word they used for the "character" models), he was also my start to building a Middenheim warband... unfortunatly he became the only one bought for them (and the last Mordheim model I bought as well). The Grey Warhound down to the right, I clipped 2 or 3 of it's legs of the base sprue thing and then basicly bent him upwards, and simmilarly bent his front legs up, to try and get it to look like it's about to jump on it's pray... but I guess that is pretty clear to anyone. :P I guess it is also worth noting that some of the models where not compleatly finished either... especially any of the guys with a plaque (or what ever they are called), I intended to have writing on all of those... only two guys got writing though, as you can see ("I'll run you through", and "Change your way or else" if you can't see it good enough).

You might want to click the image, and then click either 1 or 2 icons of a magnifying glass, with a + in it, to see the actual fullsized picture (unless it for some reason sends you directly to the big sized one as you press this image... for me it keeps sending me to the main "page" for this image (with adds and what not), where I need to click 2 times on a magnifying glass to get the original image size, the original size is 1200something and 1400something).

I'm not a pro-painter, and my camera back then was crappy, but here are my warbands (at the moment, I'm not playing the TT - friends that played scattered + kids... ;-)

Those look great, I wish I still had mine. They have been gone for 10+ years now.
